Frozen Assets: JC Decaux and Clear Channel

The world’s third-biggest oil producer (also blessed with vast reserves of gas, fresh water and fish) often gets ignored when we are talking about Digital Out of Home in Scandinavia. We are talking, of course, about Norway, a country so wealthy that despite having a population of just 4.5 million, it is a major player on the world stage.

We will be featuring a couple of Norwegian networks at the end of this week but first, it’s worth making mention of a couple of things that JC Decaux and Clear Channel have been up to.

Many of you will know that JC Decaux has had a digital signage solution in the Airport train to / from Oslo for some time but what is less well known is that JC Decaux have recently won the rights for Digital Advertising at all the airports (other than the main Oslo airport itself) and 3 regional airports in Western Norway.

Not to be beaten, Clear Channel has recently installed screens at OSLO Airport – there are now 3 x NEC screens next to each other with content flowing across all three.
