The Saints will be opening the inaugural season next year at CHS Field, but the project should be completed later this fall.

“The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse is eagerly anticipating installation of the new Daktronics video board in our Mitchell Hall gymnasium,” says Kim Blum, interim director of athletics. “The board will allow us to make many positive enhancements to the game-day atmosphere for our students, campus constituents, community supporters and fans. The board will allow us to integrate new and exciting elements into our events.”

The display will be mounted to the end wall of the gymnasium and measure approximately 12.5’ high by 16.5’ wide. It will feature a tight 6 millimeter line spacing to provide clear, crisp imagery in the form of live video and instant replays. The display can also be sectioned into multiple windows to show scoring and statistical information as well as graphics, animations, sponsor messages and other event information. It also will feature wide viewing angles to provide great views of the display to every seat in the gymnasium.

Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative sayss that the display will improve the experience at all sporting events and much more as this facility is used for multiple events throughout the year.

The main video display for the Saints will measure approximately 27.5’ high x 49’ wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout. The display will be installed in left-center field and will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while providing multiple levels of protection from the elements. It can also show one large image to highlight live video and instant replays, or can be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

“This innovated ball park will be an exciting addition to the Lowertown community,” says Hulsebus.

In addition to the video display, the Saints will also be receiving a fixed-digit scoreboard, which will display basic baseball information such as pitch count, at bat, and hits and errors.

The Saints will also receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content, to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services, consisting of a mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the Saints.
