Immedia Group And Lloyds TSB

The RNS announcement (Number : 8238P Immedia Group PLC 01 April 2009) from the board of Immedia (AIM:IME) didn’t say much apart from the fact that they were “delighted to announce … that it has signed a three year contract with a UK High Street Bank.”

As we surmised back in October 2008 when we wrote ‘Immedia Should Be Singing’ the bank in question is almost certainly Lloyds TSB. We didn’t understand the reluctance of the bank even then in disclosing what they were doing with Immedia’s RadioVision in their retail branches with BUT maybe now with most banks following in the footsteps of Tesco, Walmart and Petroleum companies in being corporations that the world loves to hate maybe there is actually something in the ‘keeping quiet on how much we are spending in our branches’ ?

Bruno Brookes, Chief Executive of Immedia told us “We are delighted to provide a substantial range of services to our new client and to be appointed as a preferred supplier to their group. This is our second major retail banking client and I am confident that other retail clients will see our services as a cost-effective in store marketing and communication solution”.

The RNS doesn’t say much more than we have written before…

This contract follows a successful trial period and memorandum of understanding announced on 15 July 2008. Under this contract, Immedia will provide the Bank’s retail branches with a RadioVision network. The award winning ‘RadioVision’ is Immedia’s latest revolutionary product which innovatively combines in-store radio with synchronised bespoke video content. Through this unique and impressive technology, radio works in unison with plasma and LCD screens to engage consumers and staff. The specially consolidated video content can be instantly triggered by presenters when explaining products and services. Immedia will provide the radio service together with bespoke audio and visual content, all hardware, network delivery and maintenance support for the store network.

We believe it is a 20+ branch roll out at the moment and that there are a number of branches where it can be seen and heard in Central London (when not surrounded by angry, rioting, looting mobs).
