Vodafone Boosts Cell Coverage w/ Help From @JCDecaux_UK

Andrew Neale

Vodafone has signed a deal with JCDecaux in the UK, aimed at boosting 3G and 4G cellular coverage in highly populated areas.

The arrangement will see Vodafone deploy small cells at bus stops, billboards and via other street furniture installations to improve its network coverage.

The aim for Vodafone is to boost the speed and capacity of its 3G and 4G networks without having to erect masts or other costly infrastructure.

The rollout, we understand, forms part of Vodafone’s GBP 19 billion ‘Project Spring’ network investment programme, of which GBP 1 billion has been earmarked for the UK.
