AMHN Acquired by Health Media Network

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

Health Media Network’s recent quiet purchase of America Minority Health Network has resulted in Shaneeka James, former president and COO leaving to form her own consultancy.

IFThe AMHN was acquired from its Board member owners (including Phil Cohen, a former Digital Signage Federation chairman and founder of a number of digital networks and of Saddle Ranch Digital).

Shaneeka headed the AMHK which had approximately 3,500 screens when acquired by The Health Network.

Total price was not disclosed. She has also been an active Board member of the DSF.

And as for Shaneeka, if you don’t know her by her strengths and knowledge of product, management, training and strategies, well, you’ll probably recognize and remember her for her shoes. (Fashion brands/retailers might want to take note!)

Shaneeka has founded Shaneeka James Consultancy and she spends her time largely split between Los Angeles, Atlanta and Las Vegas but is free to travel anywhere.

“I love the idea of using my knowledge to work with a lot of different companies and help them grow,”
she says. “Sure, if I ever found a company which I fell in love with and was passionate about, then I’m not saying that I wouldn’t be interested. But the idea of being able to work with a lot of different companies and to share my knowledge and experience really excites me.”
