“We noticed that there are common problems that all the verticals run into certain problems in their attempts to efficiently visually communicate with their customers,” François Hechme, senior director of product management, said when we met at #dse2015. “It seems that there are common problems, whether in corporate communications, in lobbies, in meeting rooms, or in the various verticals, so we decided to focus on that.

“Instead of trying to solve the same problem over and over, we have looked at a standardized method that would be common to all for each problem and have been developing building applications that could be used by all.

“However, we had to figure out a delivery system for them: hence the development of the FWi Store. Here clients can find content, templates and what they need by simply launching from the software. They can download, configure and use.”

This is all part of the licencing available through FWI, and there are different tiers, so clients can pull what they need.

FWI has close to 20 people now focused on building the apps, which the company was showing at the exhibit.

“We’re doing the work for the customers, who only have to go to the FWi Store to find the right apps,”
says Hechme. “We want them to be available for all platforms, so are synchronizing them for all players.”

The company is also offering frame accurate video synchronization for screens so content can run across several screens at one time, eg. for screens along escalators or across video walls.
