Centennial, Colorado-based National CineMedia, the largest cinema advertising network in the U.S., has opened a Detroit office headed by Kendra Cassidy to work more closely with clients and agencies in the Detroit marketplace, most notably the auto industry.

Cassidy, who has joined as a national account director, will work with advertising clients and agencies to help them reach an audience of more than 700 million moviegoers who enjoy NCM’s FirstLookpre-show in over 40 other leading national and regional theater circuit affiliates, including AMC, Cinemark and Regal Entertainment Group.

“After a five year absence, we knew it was critical to have a dedicated presence back in Detroit to manage and consult with our growing automotive business,” says Cliff Marks, president of sales and marketing with NCM. “Detroit is one of the most important ad markets in the country, and after the tremendous success we had in the 2014-15 upfront season from the auto category, it became clear that we needed to have the right person on the ground to continue to expand our great relationships with U.S. automakers. Kendra is the ideal person to run NCM’s Detroit office.”

Formerly with Time Inc., Cassidy was recently Detroit director of InStyle magazine. Previously, she managed sales efforts for the company’s print and digital properties, including InStyle, People, Essence, People StyleWatch, Real Simple, Health and Cooking Light, maintaining the #1 market share position among the fashion and beauty competitive set. She has also worked as the Detroit manager for Harper’s BAZAAR, and as a sales manager, corporate and special events with Olympia Entertainment Inc..
