The new Spectacular is the latest from PATTISON’s high resolution digital display portfolio and is the company’s first exterior digital Out-of-Home media product in Windsor.

PATTISON’s Spectacular at the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel in Windsor is located at the entry point to Windsor from Detroit, Michigan, and the exit point from Windsor to Detroit. It measures 10’ high and 35’ long and replaces five previously existing 10’x20’ horizontal trio posters which had been in place since 2006.

“As we continue to increase our digital portfolio, we are very proud to be continuing our national digital expansion and launching our first exterior digital media product in Windsor,” said Joe Donaldson, vice-president, marketing, PATTISON Outdoor. “Our digital media products provide a unique platform of capabilities including quick-and-easy posting for commercial messages, creative and promotional flexibility, and minimal lead times, while also providing real-time messaging services for communities. We are confident that our new Detroit-Windsor Tunnel location will prove to be very popular.”

The tunnel is a key artery that connects millions to cross border shopping, sporting events and various entertainment venues: Cesars Windsor Casino, Windsor Sculpture Park and WFCU Centre in Windsor, and the GM Renaissance Centre, MGM Grand Detroit, Comerica Park, Ford Field and Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

“Following several months of planning and negotiations, council unanimously approved PATTISON’s application to install the digital structure at the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel,” says Sid Catalano, director of legislation, PATTISON Outdoor. “With travel wait times as high as 45 minutes during peak hours, this is a very strategic location for advertisers. They will appreciate the dynamic, high resolution digital format for delivering their brand’s voice.”

An impressive line-up of advertisers are now premiering on the new Spectacular, with multiple advertisements running as part of a 60-second loop.

Located between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario, the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel connects the U.S. Interstates to Ontario’s Highway 401. In 2013, according to statistics from the Canada Border Services Agency, the tunnel managed the flow of approximately 2.1 million vehicles and 3.6 million travelers. The 85 year-old tunnel is jointly owned by the Cities of Windsor and Detroit.
