Christie’s valued partner in Singapore, Hexogon Solution Pte Ltd., which specializes in custom, 3D projection installations, event displays and exhibitions, is gearing up to attain a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title achievement for the ‘greatest light output in a projected image ever produced in a single event’ using Christie visual solutions.

The rental staging company is attempting to set a new record by deploying 160 Christie Roadster HD20K-J 3DLP projectors for a projection mapping performance at the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian sporting event being held at Singapore’s new National Stadium on June 5, 2015. The total brightness of the projected images is expected to hit 3,200,000 million lumens – about three times brighter than the current record achieved by Freightliner Trucks (USA) at Hoover Dam, in Boulder City, Nevada, May 4, 2015.

“This is the first time that we are vying for the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title and we are hopeful that with our setup of 160 Christie Roadster HD20K-J projectors – each producing 20,000 lumens – we are able to smash the current record and emerge as the new record holder,” says Adrian Goh, managing director, Hexogon Solution. “At the same time, we’re proud to present an exciting projection mapping show at the opening of this eagerly-anticipated sports event. It has taken us a month to complete the entire installation process and we’re fully committed to deliver a top-notch performance.”

Hexogon Solution has installed the projectors around the National Stadium where a slew of colorful images and multimedia content will be projected on the stadium floor to welcome 7,000 athletes from 11 nations who will be competing for the top honors during the 1½-week regional sporting event. More than 40,000 spectators are expected to attend the grand opening ceremony showcasing mass displays comprising 5,000 performers and props supported by an aerial system used for the first time in Singapore.

The entire fleet of projectors is hang-mounted on 20 specially-built towers above the highest seating area in the stadium by the experienced team of engineers and technicians from Hexogon Solution. The projected images, which have a stunning 4K resolution, are driven by 18 units of the award-winning coolux Pandoras Box Media Server, renowned for creating compelling large-scale, multimedia experiences.

Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific, says, “We are pleased to support our longstanding partner Hexogon Solution in this attempt to attain this GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title and we will put in our best efforts to make this a reality. In fact, the 160 Christie Roadster HD20K-J projectors set up at this venue is already the world’s largest number of Christie projectors ever deployed for an event to date.”

Hexogon Solution has used Christie’s visual solutions in a number of prominent large-scale events in Singapore, such as the National Day Parade at the Marina Bay Floating Platform over the past three years where it provided projection mapping and multimedia contents for the main performances. It was also responsible for delivering a stunning projection mapping show on the façade of the famous Fullerton Hotel and the iconic Merlion Statue during the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2015 event on 31 December 2014.
