MTA Ad Contract RFP Expected By Month End

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

We’ve heard that an RFP for the long-awaited new advertising contract for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority is now expected by the end of October, 2015.

The MTA apparently met with what we might consider as the Big Four: OUTFRONT Media, Clear Channel Outdoor, Intersection (the recently merged Titan and Control Group), and JCDecaux recently, so we expect that all four will be in the running for the multi-million dollar contract.

You may recall that OUTFRONT Media entered into an agreement with the MTA to extend its existing transit contract for providing advertising services throughout the New York City subway system from Dec. 31, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2016, unless earlier terminated.
