“As churches and synagogues, service organizations and other non-profit entities began to understand the power of digital signage to improve communication, build community and enhance outreach, they were often frustrated because the digital signage products available to them either placed too great a burden on their budget or were too simplistic and limiting,” says Dan Snyder, inLighten CEO. ”We saw an opportunity to address both concerns with our Apollo system, and the eagerness with which our product has been adopted by a significant number of churches has been very gratifying.”

INLIGHTEN LOGOSnyder was talking about how inLighten’s Apollo system can help faith-based groups pursue their missions, as he accepted an award on behalf of the Clarence, NY-based inLighten , a digital signage, self-service kiosks and other interactive products company. inLighten’s Apollo was selected by Religious Product News as one of its ‘Best of the Best’ Hot Products for 2015

inLighten’s digital signage system features an ultra-compact, solid-state media player that’s easy-to-install and exceptionally reliable. Apollo also includes a comprehensive suite of web-based system controls, creative tools and content resources that make it simple and cost-effective for congregations of any size to use the power of digital signage to present dynamic, high-quality messages that will capture the attention of their members, guests and visitors.

The Apollo digital signage system includes the 1.2 oz. Apollo digital signage unit, which outputs HD video content via HDMI. The unit is designed to be situated discreetly at the screen or plug into the head-end of a distribution network connecting multiple screens. It’s powered by standard electric and requires Internet access, either via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. After activation, the Apollo unit checks in regularly with inLighten’s network for retrieval of client content.

To describe how easy it is for churches and other non-profits to manage their Apollo systems, Matt Welter, inLighten’s director of communications, provided a brief overview of the tools and services that are also included with the Apollo system.

“For content creation, scheduling, distribution and network management, clients are provided an Apollocast Manager account that can be securely accessed by visiting inLighten’s web-site from any desktop, laptop or tablet at any time,” says Welter. “Once they’re logged into their account, clients can upload content produced using their favorite software or they can create content using StudioPro+, intuitive, feature-rich, design software from inLighten filled with transitions, effects, style options, animation tools and utilities for live feeds and social media content.”

The Apollocast Manager account also includes tools for scheduling content to single or multiple Apollo units located throughout a church’s campus, with unique content assigned to each Apollo unit. Start/end dates, time-of-day, day-of- week and frequency attributes can be applied to announcements, event schedules, community news, activity listings, calendars and alerts. Additionally, remote Apollo monitoring can be accessed for system and support status, plus controls for bandwidth and screen use help clients manage the operation and efficiency of their networks.

Snyder sats, “We are very appreciative of the recognition we’ve received from Religious Product News and are committed to supporting our Apollo digital signage system with the same level of professional support that we provide for our iGIV Digital Donation Kiosks and the other products currently being used by our church clients.”

The Digital Signage System is featured in the December issue of Religious Product News, reaching over 40,000 pastors and other churches leaders through print and online versions.
