Panasonic Canada Acquires QuickService Technologies

Panasonic Canada Inc. has extended its range of services and technologies offered to the QSR sector with its announcement yesterday (Feb. 9/16) that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire QuickService Technologies Inc., St. Catharines. Ontario.

QuickService Technologies, founded in 1960, provides technology solutions software, hardware and services integration to security and terminal outlets of the fast food industry, serving clients across Canada, the US and in major international markets. With this acquisition, Panasonic Canada will strengthen its position in the fast food market with new services and integration of new technologies.

The acquisition is expected to close before the end of February, 2016. The new company will be called ‘QuickService Technologies, A Panasonic Company’ and operate as a separate division of Panasonic Canada at the conclusion of the acquisition. Nearly 100 professionals from QuickService Technologies will join the Panasonic Canada team. The acquisition will allow QuickService Technologies, whose flagship software product includes its iQTouch filed for POS applications, to extend its offer to new and existing customers. Panasonic Canada will provide integration services and comprehensive support that will add to its existing range of products offered.

Thousands of restaurants and their customers have come to rely on QuickService for support and integration round the clock to ensure the efficient operation of their critical systems of fast food. The area of fast food in Canada is currently 4.3 billion restaurant visits annually and generates CA$23 billion per year.
