The new digital board has been in the planning for two years. Measuring 20’ high by 100’ long with 20 mm pitch, it is an LED sign by Panasonic. It will run 8-second ads on a loop and Michael Galkin, sales, marketing and research manager for Branded Cities, based in New York, says that several advertisers are ready for the board going live.

“Advance sales are very strong,”
says Galkin. “The sign is visible for traffic both entering and leaving the tunnel. We are currently in test mode.

“When it was static, the Lincoln Tunnel board was the highest rated single board at the Lincoln Tunnel helix and was one of the highest rated static boards in the entire New York DMA. We are waiting to confirm the unit’s new impressions with the Traffic Audit Bureau but we expect them to be equally strong from a digital perspective.”

Branded Cities owns various boards in New York including static and digital boards at five addresses in the Times Square district.
