#dse2016 @NEC_Display Solutions Impressive As Always

Rich Ventura, vice-president business development and solutions at NEC Display Solutions, ran me through the series of new displays that the company was showing at #dse2016, some of which were also seen at #ISE2016.

As usual, NEC’s displays are always big, impressive, and interesting for verticals ranging from corporate communications to high-end retail and everything in-between. I found it interesting that Ventura made it a real point to mention the various partners that it was working with on certain displays, giving them all solid credit. Among them were Holonyne, Green Hippo, StratosMedia, Microsoft Kait, T1V – and I might have missed some.

We saw the X555UNS video wall which takes very high resolution imagery – it can take 8K, 12K and 16 K content. It was showing with 4K and I could foresee lots of use for high-end retail and airports.

The 98” 4K X981UHD screen with Moving Murals software couldn’t help but draw the eye.

“It’s very focused for such markets as lobbies and environmental use,” said Ventura.

A 1.9mm Fine Pitch DirectVu display should get a lot of attention from potential users because it’s front-serviceable.

Some eight-to-10 companies are currently piloting NEC Engage powered by StratosMedia which can target and trigger ads according to age, gender and more.

And we heard that NEC’s VUKUNET has a large global project which will be revealed later this year!
