When Susie Opare-Abetia, founder and CEO, started Woven Media in San Francisco five years ago, she wasn’t a neophyte.

Susie Opara-Abetia

Opare-Abetia’s 20 years experience included working in technology, product development and senior management positions for BBC, Abekas, Virage and. lastly, for PRN, where she was active in the building of the digital signage network for Wal-Mart. When she set out on her own, she looked for cloud-based technology and when she didn’t find what she wanted, she built her own platform with top technology that includes content management and supports digital video delivery to digital signage players, all in the cloud – err, she couldn’t have looked very hard, there’s plenty of good cloud based solutions around, crazy, Ed.

Woven Media simultaneously supports streaming video to the web and mobile devices. She also has a patent for the US especially for Woven Media’s ‘store and forward’ technology.

Because of its structure, the company has built multiple partnerships. For example, BrightSign is one of several companies whose digital players take Woven Media’s digital video delivery.

Woven Media also has such clients as Sam’s Club, Accent Health and TouchTunes.

“We reach 45 million viewers with our content,” said Opare-Abetia. “We now have a staff of 20, and have 135 content providers, including all the major broadcast networks.”
