Lamar And Shaw Launch Vancouver’s First Wi-Fi Enhanced SeaBus Terminal Domination Ad Campaign

SeaBus commuters in Vancouver can now enjoy free Wi-Fi connectivity in the Waterfront and Lonsdale Quay terminals, as part of a new marketing campaign from Shaw Communications and Lamar Advertising Company.

Lamar Advertising of British Columbia launched Vancouver’s first-ever Wi-Fi enhanced SeaBus terminal domination advertising campaign for the Shaw WiFi Go brand.

“The Wi-Fi enhanced SeaBus terminal dominations are a groundbreaking transit advertising initiative in British Columbia,” says Byron Montgomery, Lamar’s regional vice-president and general manager. “The Shaw WiFi Go campaign is an excellent example of how out-of-home advertising complements mobile and wireless technology to deliver meaningful advertisements that provide utility to consumers. SeaBus riders can enjoy free Wi-Fi connectivity while waiting in the terminals, courtesy of Shaw WiFi Go and TransLink. To promote Shaw WiFi Go, Lamar saturated the SeaBus terminals with posters, turnstile wraps and floor graphics. The branding carries onto the SeaBus ferries with seat decals and on-board vertical posters, making them highly visible and easily identifiable. A Shaw WiFi Go splash page greets commuters who connect to the WiFi on their mobile device, continuing the conversation from out-of-home to mobile.
Lamar offers a variety of transit advertising formats throughout British Columbia including bus, rail and station displays, reaching commuters as they travel throughout the marketplace.

The campaign started in March and is an on-going initiative.
