Outsmart to Refocus

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Outsmart for “Impact, Action, Relevance and Creativity” and basically re-invented by Alan Brydon and co.has announced that it will be reorganising and as a (bizarre to us) consequence (and we are incredibly disappointed to hear that) Mark Craze (Chairman) and Alan Brydon (CEO) will both be leaving Outsmart.

The press release stated that from Autumn 2016 the organisation will move from being a marketing body to a trade association with a focus on broader industry initiatives.

Mark Craze and Alan Brydon told us “We are proud of what the team have achieved in a short space of time and delighted at the revenue growth being achieved by the medium. We are sad and disappointed at the situation but remain passionate in the wonderful power of OoH”

Justin Cochrane CEO of Clear Channel UK who will now assume the role of Outsmart Chairman told us “I would like to thank Mark, Alan and the rest of the Outsmart team for all their achievements over the last 18 months. While it is disappointing that some of the exciting plans they had developed now won’t be delivered, I look forward to Chairing the new look Outsmart and working with other Out-of-Home media owners to address industry issues as we continue to help inspire advertisers about the possibilities of Out-of-Home media during what is one of the most exciting periods in the medium’s history.”

We are slightly taken aback, such was the FANTASTIC work that Mark and Alan have done. Other employees were also let go and we understand that only  Tim Lumb and Katherine Ashmore have remained. This news will have come as a shock to all of the Outsmart employees – all of whom had left good jobs to go there having bought into the vision.  What next now we ask?

RE: The brilliant team that Mark and Alan has put in place these past 18 months still remains.
Unfortunately, this is incorrect and only two staff members are still in place
