The Seigenthaler Incident

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Following on from our (topic now closed) run-in with Legion722 over a certain Wikipedia entry and continued debates in the office on use of same – Jorge who quite defiantly says “since it’s the ‘encyclopedia anyone can edit’ lots of people whose knowledge of certain topics is at best deficient contribute their crap” I thought it worthwhile to spend some of my time away last week reading up in more detail on Wikipedia.

For anyone else interested in the subject a great book we found was ‘The Wikipedia Revolution: How a Bunch of Nobodies Created the World’s Greatest Encyclopedia‘ by Andrew Lih.

It’s available in paperback and is published by Aurum Press Ltd (19 Mar 2009) in English, ISBN-10: 1845134737
