Location Sciences, a new mobile location data and intelligence business, has recently launched following a successful GBP 3.1 million funding by its parent company, AIM-listed Proxama Group.

We are told that it will use a vast range of precise location data to help businesses understand their customers and products. It combines first-party mobile location, derived from ultra-precise GPS technology combined with the UK’s largest network of Bluetooth beacons to map data far more accurately than previous industry approaches. In just a few months, the data has scaled to over three million UK consumers generating billions of precise data points.

Unlike traditional ‘snapshot’ location data, Location Sciences can access consistent data, giving it a far deeper and richer understanding of location behaviours and consumer insights and a higher degree of accuracy.

Mobile advertising veteran, Mark Slade has joined from Opera Mediaworks, where he was Managing Director, EMEA. As Managing Director he will lead the scaling of the business’ data and audience products.
