Nigel Clarkson (& Andrea Marsh) join @ExterionMediaUK

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Exterion Media has named former Oath UK managing director Nigel Clarkson as UK chief revenue officer alongside Andrea Marsh as digital transformation director.

Reporting directly to Dave King, the company’s UK managing director, Clarkson, who left his post at Oath in December, will be charged with leading collaboration across the business and head up its commercial board which will bring together all commercial elements in the business.

He has previously held senior roles in outdoor competitors such as Primesight and Clear Channel before becoming commercial director and managing director at Weve, which led to his move to Yahoo and subsequently Oath following the merger with AOL.

His appointment follows that of Andrea Marsh who began in January having led digital transformation at media companies such as Time, Emap, Bauer Media and Factory Media.

Dave King, UK MD Exterion Media, told us “Nigel is passionate about out-of-home, and brings extensive senior-level experience across mobile, digital and out-of-home, which will help shape the future commercial growth of the business. He deeply understands the unique partnership role that we can play alongside both traditional and digital media channels, and how we can capitalise on opportunities in digital, data-driven audience insight and creativity.

“We are also incredibly pleased to have Andrea on board. She is commercially focused and understands what is needed to deliver on our ambitions to grow the OOH market through our full motion digital estate. Bringing with her more than 20 years of pure digital experience, she is already a key member of our senior team.”

Both join as Exterion Media embarked on a £90m digital expansion strategy that will see Clarkson take up the position from April 16, 2018.
