Simon Woodward Joins @Posterscope

Posterscope, the out-of-home and location marketing specialist, this week announced the appointment of Simon Woodward as Global Commercial Director. In this newly created role, we are told that Simon will provide trading and commercial support to Posterscope’s 35 offices around the world and that he will play a key role in the company’s M&A activity and in the further development of its broader, location marketing services.  

He will report to Stephen Whyte, Global President, and be based in the London office. Since 2015, Simon has been the Chief Operating Officer of DAN MENA but will returning to his native UK to take up the role from May 1, 2019.

Stephen Whyte, Global President of Posterscope Worldwide, said of the appointment: “I am delighted that Simon is joining our worldwide leadership team.  His talents and extensive international experience will be very valuable in this exciting period of growth and evolution for Posterscope and the Out-of-Home medium.”

Simon Woodward has had a 32-year career in media, working in media agencies, clients and media owners. He has worked in many diverse markets and environments across eight regions.  He started in media sales in 1986 before moving into media buying as an original member of BBJ Media. 

In 1998, he embarked on an international career, moving to Denmark, Sweden & then China within Carat.  Simon remained in the Asia region for 12 years and worked for Mindshare, GroupM and Universal McCann, the latter as APAC Head of Trading & as China CEO.  He then moved client-side as Global Head of Media & Agency Management for Nokia/Microsoft Mobile, based in London, before joining Dentsu Aegis in Dubai as Chief Operating Officer of the MENA region.
