New York Digital Signage Week takes place Monday October 14 to Friday October 18, 2019 and this year sees a *new* ‘Out of Home Reception’ which it is hoped, will become an annual fixture during the week, going forward. The World Out of Home Organization (WOO, formerly FEPE) will be hosting a networking presentation with partners the Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) and research body Geopath
The event is going to be notable for the fact that this will be the first time that the industry will have the opportunity to properly meet Anna Bager, the new OAAA President and CEO and it is the first ever, joint event held by the three associations. It of course, follows FEPE’s most recent congress in Dubai in May, where it was announced that ‘FEPE’ was to be rebranded as the ‘World Out Of Home Organization’.
At the event, WOO president Tom Goddard will be announcing further details of the next WOO Congress, which is to be held in Toronto June 3-4, 2020. He will also discuss a new global research panel, chaired by Geopath president Kym Frank.
Tom Goddard told us “We believe that closer collaboration between all associations is crucial to the future growth of the industry. We welcome this opportunity to partner with our close friends in the United States to help forge closer ties between the US and the global WOO membership. We also look forward to welcoming Anna, the new OAAA President and CEO, and to working with the OAAA to build an even brighter future for out of home”.
On February 4, 2019 The Out of Home Advertising Association of America announced that Nancy Fletcher, one of the longest serving leaders of a national trade association, was to step down as president and CEO at the end of 2019.
This New York Digital Signage Week Out of Home Reception will be held at the R-Lounge at the Renaissance Times Square Hotel between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Note that this ‘Welcome Reception’ is ‘invite only’ and in addition to the official launch party which will be held later that same evening hosted and sponsored by SNA Displays.
