It was pretty common knowledge that Posterscope UK CEO Stephen Whyte resigned back in March (if he actually ‘resigned’ then this was incredibly prescient and very good timing on his part) and that Dentsu Aegis have been going through the motions in looking for a successor – all of course to portray business as usual and an ‘orderly departure’.
However news reaches us that he may have already left? There are two scenarios in play here, neither of which is mutually exclusive, Stephen Whyte allegedly had a reputation for rubbing everyone up the wrong way, colleagues and media owners alike, and he would have been an easy target if Dentsu wanted / needed to streamline the top positions.
The other thought is that the stand alone company ‘Posterscope’ is being prepped to be folded into the mothership ‘Dentsu Aegis’.
