StreetWeb – La Vitrine Interactive

StreetWeb

We didn’t see the 8,000 people promised by REED at Salon Marketing Point de Vente (will be interesting to see what the official / made public figure actually is) but it was a good event in Paris nonetheless (surely all events in Paris are good events by default? – Ed)

Definitely the busiest stand in the Digital Signage section of the show was that of Apia Solutions, part of the Apia Group.

They are an all inclusive retail service company with 3 divisions…

  • Traditional signs and POS material
  • Shop-fitting
  • Interactive Displays (Apia-Solutions)

The group we believe has an annual turnover of €30M and a staff of just over 200.

Apart from the luxurious deep pile carpet which was a welcome relief for weary trade-show feet the biggest attraction on their stand was the interactive touch-screen system for shop windows (featuring in-house developed software).

We first saw this system at Viscom in September 2007, when it was just coming out of its development stage – nice to see it now completed and operational.

The picture shows it being marketed under the ‘StreetWeb’ banner. We are told that Apia have developed generic programmes for…

  • Estate Agents
  • Opticians
  • Pharmacies
  • Travel Agencies
  • Banks
  • Employment Agencies
  • Retail

Those shown at the show were for Opticians, Employment Agencies and Estate Agents. A neat feature of the Employment Agency system permits potential candidates to select a job and apply online, enter their phone number all WITHOUT ever entering the agency!!

In France we have seen both Manpower and ‘Alifax.fr’ using this solution.

The Group’s client list looks like the who’s who of the French ‘High Street and we feel that once they start converting some of these into Digital Signage clients, they will be a massive force to be reckoned with in our industry sector.

C-nario is proud and congratulate Apia Solutions – our partner to the French market. As in ISE, also this exhibition shows that higher quality solutions attracts larger audiences, and “high street” customers.

Now that sinage looks amazing. So for our estate agency people can find property and register without even entering our offices?

I’m going to have to keep an eye on this, not just for our sector but as a consumer too.
