#InfoComm21 Likely To Be Postponed

Rumor circulating in the US at the moment is that AVIXA, the organisers of #InfoComm21 are now giving very serious consideration to moving the event from its current June time slot to later in the year.

#InfoComm21 of course, always takes place in June, alternately flip flopping between Orlando, FL (this year) and Las Vegas, NV. Whilst the event did not take place in Las Vegas last year, it is still one of the only large North American trade shows who has not felt it needed to move its dates just yet.

Let me stress that “just yet” bit. The organisers of the 2021 NAB Show, which was scheduled for Las Vegas in April 11–14, 2021, announced LAST YEAR (yes, they announced this in September, 2020) that the new date for their show in Las Vegas would be October 9–13, 2021. I don’t need to tell you that this is just over a a full year’s notice to exhibitors, sponsors and attendees.

NAB Show actually announced this week that it is still hopeful of its Fall 2021 return based on new data. The National Association of Broadcasters surveyed roughly 1,000 previous NAB Show attendees and nearly seven-in-ten expect to attend in-person events at this year’s NAB Show.

Three-in-five note the #COVID19 vaccine will be the most influential part of their decision process and 88 percent say they are likely to return once they feel the virus threat is mitigated.

The survey data comes from Freeman Event Research part of the Freeman group of companies which also handles logistics for the Las Vegas Convention Center and manages many trade shows around the globe.
