Samsung Electronics Co. has announced that it will skip in-person exhibitions at #MWC21 / #MWC2021, which is still scheduled to take place in Barcelona in June, due to novel coronavirus concerns.

It did say that it planned to join the event online.

The world’s largest smartphone vendor said in a statement “The health and safety of our employees, partners and customers is our number one priority, so we have made the decision to withdraw from exhibiting in-person at this year’s MWC. We look forward to participating virtually and continuing to work with GSMA and industry partners to advance new mobile experiences.”

Samsung joins Cisco, Google, Sony, Nokia, Facebook, Oracle and Ericsson (who were the first to pull out) in not exhibiting.
