Comcast Spectacor Launches New Events Division

Comcast Spectacor, the parent company of Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Flyers, announced the launch of a new division, Spectacor Events & Entertainment, which will book content for Wells Fargo Center and serve as a national booking agent for Spectra’s portfolio of venues throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The new division was born during the depths of the pandemic in 2020, when Wells Fargo Center was closed to the public and Comcast Spectacor found new ways to safely host events. With few national touring options, Comcast Spectacor decided to build and promote its own events, like the wildly successful ‘Winter On Broad Street’ holiday lights spectacular, which drew nearly 70,000 guests to the winter wonderland created just steps outside the arena.

Dave Scott, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Spectacor said “Our business is driven by innovation, and in the face of a pandemic that impacted our entire industry, we once again found ways to innovate, safely host events, and lay the groundwork for this exciting new division of Comcast Spectacor”.

Emily Dunham has been hired as Senior Vice President of Spectacor Events & Entertainment and will provide strategic leadership in booking Spectra’s diverse portfolio of venues and creating new content for the Philadelphia audience. She was previously Vice President of Corporate Strategy for the Washington Nationals, where she oversaw events at Nationals Park and managed concert booking and sales of all non-sports hospitality for the venue.

She has already assembled a team with both decades of industry experience and rising talent to carry out the strategy and execution of the division. Tina Suca was recently announced as Vice President of Booking and brings more than two decades of industry experience to the team. She most recently was Chief Operating Officer at Emporium Presents and held previous positions with the likes of BSE Global, ArenaNetwork, Nassau Coliseum, SMG, Live Nation and House of Blues. Tina will oversee the division’s role as the national booking agent for Spectra venues and help bring new business to Wells Fargo Center.

Other industry veterans who have joined the team include Shannon Donnelly (Vice President of Events) and Brett Reopell (Director of Booking). Donnelly, whose previous posts include Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, Townsquare Media and Prudential Center, will focus on creating new events for the Philadelphia market. Brett will continue in his long-standing role as the primary booker for Wells Fargo Center.

As the in-house booking agent for Wells Fargo Center, Spectacor Events & Entertainment will continue to work with tour promoters to bring the biggest shows to Philadelphia’s top entertainment venue. The team will also focus on expanding the venue’s portfolio of events, ensuring there will be diverse programming for every type of audience. In 2019, Wells Fargo Center was named by industry publication Pollstar as one of the Top Stops of the Decade, ranking No. 2 in the United States and No. 6 in the world for number of tickets sold at a venue of its size (15,001-30,000 capacity).

Spectacor Events & Entertainment will also create new events at Wells Fargo Center, within the Sports Complex and throughout the Philadelphia region. Coming off last year’s success of the wintertime light experience, “Winter on Broad,” Comcast Spectacor looked to find ways to build off that blueprint. The event will be reintroduced with an expanded and enhanced version with a larger footprint, exciting new features, and a new location.
