Here in the UK, OPEN Media and The Whitechapel Centre have teamed up the festive period to launch a digital out of home and social media campaign to fundraise for the charity during the winter months.

The ‘Everyone Needs a Home’ campaign will be across five large format digital screens in Liverpool city centre, with the aim of encouraging members of the public to donate £3 by texting ‘3HOME’ to 70450.

Ruth McCaughley, Fundraising Manager at The Whitechapel Centre said “OPEN Media have been fantastic supporters of The Whitechapel Centre, providing us with free advertising space to raise awareness of homelessness and promoting our fundraising events. We are so pleased they have chosen to support us with their Christmas campaign, as we head in to the winter months it’s essential that we are here to help people who are sleeping rough in our city. The team are also volunteering with us soon and we look forward to showing them exactly how their support helps.”

The Whitechapel Centre provides a wide range of services to end and prevent homelessness, from street outreach to online housing advice, accommodation for homeless families to resettlement support. People supporting this campaign will ensure they can continue to provide help and advice to anyone who needs it.

OPEN Media, whose headquarters are in Liverpool, know the importance of giving back to communities and the power of a combined out of home and social media campaign. ‘Everyone Needs a Home’ follows on from their Black History Month and Pride Month campaigns, amongst many more. The company will be kicking off the campaign with a GBP 2,000 donation, with the objective to get the final number to GBP 5,000 before Christmas.

Amy Shaw, Marketing Manager at OPEN Media told us “We are delighted to be supporting The Whitechapel Centre this festive period, a charity we have been partnered with for 3 years. Supporting the communities in which our screens are located is hugely important to us here at OPEN, and it felt necessary to launch this campaign as we creep into the colder months. We hope to see support not only from the general public, but from local businesses and organisations”.

The centre will be open throughout Christmas, providing Christmas lunch and a warm, safe space for anyone sleeping rough as well as distributing gifts to over 700 clients.
