Leading digital outdoor company QMS (formerly MediaWorks in New Zealand) is now officially live with the prestigious Auckland Transport street furniture concession, marking a significant milestone in its journey to reshape New Zealand’s out of home media sector.

QMS NZ Director, Adam Trevena, told us “We are thrilled to be officially live with the Auckland Transport street furniture network. The transition process has been exceptionally smooth, and I would like to thank all the teams involved for their outstanding work in ensuring a successful transition. This moment is not just about taking over assets; it’s the beginning a new era of innovation, growth and public utility for OOH in Auckland. The immediate activation of the street furniture network is the first step in a transformative program that will elevate the network’s capabilities, including investment into new digital technology across key locations, delivered with the operational expertise of QMS Australia. We are confident the investment in this network will deliver greater value for Auckland Transport, our advertising partners and the people of Auckland.”

The new, long-term agreement includes exclusive rights to nearly 2,000 existing advertising panels across Auckland’s street furniture network, which will integrate seamlessly with QMS’ existing portfolio of transit, transport hubs, and large format digital and static billboards.

Auckland Transport’s Head of Out of Home Media and Partnerships, Simon Soulsby, said “This is an exciting milestone for our new out of home media partnership with QMS as the team begins managing our street furniture advertising network, after a smooth transition from our previous operator. We look forward to the opportunities this brings advertisers, and the revenue returns that Aucklanders will benefit from.”

The successful handover of the coveted network to QMS cements its new position as the largest OOH operator across New Zealand.

This agreement with Auckland Transport follows the QMS acquisition of 100% of Oaktree Capital Management’s stake in MediaWorks in June this year.
