Cinema Advertising Council Gets New Head

Michael Chico, executive vice-president sales and marketing for Screenvision, New York, was recently elected the new president and chairman, the Cinema Advertising Council.

chicoChico replaces Dave Kupiec, executive vice president of sales and marketing for National CineMedia, who will remain a CAC officer and was elected as the association’s new executive director. Other executive officers are Bob Brouillette, treasurer (senior vice-president business development, National CineMedia), and Laura Adler, secretary (president, A & G Marketing Group), who continue in their previous roles.

In his position with CAC member Screenvision, Chico is responsible for overseeing all of the company’s national, regional and local sales across the U.S identifying and launching new product and service offerings; and overseeing Screenvision’s overall sales and marketing strategy.

Prior to Screenvision, Chico was executive vice president advertising sales for Madison Square Garden, Inc., with responsibility for overseeing the MSG and Fox Sports networks, as well as signage, integrated marketing and naming rights for the theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theater.

Kupiec heads the sales and marketing department at CAC member NCM, N.Y.. He works in tandem with Cliff Marks, president of sales and marketing, NCM, to develop and implement in-theater marketing programs in NCM-affiliated movie theaters nationwide.

CAC is a national non-profit trade association that serves cinema advertising sellers, the theatrical exhibition community and the advertising community, acting as a central source of information for the industry. In addition to representing cinema advertising companies that account for over 82% of U.S. cinema screens CAC’s membership is also comprised of companies that provide services and products to the cinema advertising industry.
