CognoVision Named One Of CIX Top 20 Innovative Companies of 2009

CognoVision Solutions Inc., a Markham-Ont.-based developer of real-time audience measurement solutions for the retail and out-of-home advertising industries, has been named as one of the CIX Top 20 Innovative Companies of 2009.

CognoVision solutions measure and maximize the impact of digital signage. Its system has been optimized for use in digital signage networks.

CognoVision’s system measures the number of impressions; monitors the number of browsers; understands engagement levels; measures dwell times; and optimizes signage locations. It also can give demographics in terms of age and gender.

The CX Top 20 are selected by the Canadian Innovation Exchange, a gathering of Canada’s key players in the innovation economy. CIX conducts an exhaustive search for the most innovative ideas, products, services and companies in the country.

CognoVision Solutions Inc. was selected for its innovative work on the Anonymous Impression Metric platform which encompasses leading face detection and people tracking technologies to provide powerful business intelligence metrics for digital signage networks and retailers. Its face-detection and people-tracking video analytics technology measures the effectiveness of media displays, including digital screens, posters, kiosks, window displays, and product displays. Its solutions allow digital signage networks to measure and maximize their ROI, and for retailers to improve their bottom line by increasing revenues and optimizing costs.
