Mood Media For Sale

Russ Curry, Ministry of New Media

According to an article in last weekend’s Sunday Times, Mood Media has appointed the Rothschild investment bank to “consider its strategic options”.

If sold, the business could be valued at GBP 175 million.

The company, which has 550 staff and 35 offices worldwide, was set up in France in 1954 to supply background music in retail environments, but has since expanded into ‘sensorial marketing’ and digital in-store screens. In the UK, it supplies music to the Toni & Guy TV hairdressing chain among many others.

Mood Media SA, the Luxembourg based holding company, was formed after the fusion of Mood Media with competitor DMX MUSIC International in 2006. The group then acquired the Dutch Alcas Holding in 2007. Annual sales are reported to be more than £90m.

Jean-Marie Noizet is Group Chairman.  Jean-Marie has 17 years’ experience within the field of in-store music and has successfully grown Mood Media during his time there. The operational management reports to Philippe G. von Stauffenberg, Executive Chairman.  Philippe is one of the founders of Solidus Partners LLP, an investment company specialising in opportunities within the electronics, media and business services sectors.

Jonathan Patrick is Group CEO.
