Rumours Of Demise Greatly Exagerated (Vjive)

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We spoke to our good friend Rajesh Jog in India today (this man has a great taste in Champagne by the way) and he was not a happy man after rumours of his business’s demise were first reported by pluGGd.in (Pi) and then re-tweeted – neither of whom checked their facts before ‘putting pen to paper’.

pluGGd.in (Pi) said “Digital OOH company vJive, which was started in 2004 has shut shop, as mentioned by a reliable source” but that source was not that ‘reliable’ as Rajesh told us exclusively “The truth is that we have taken a severe hit on a couple of counts – the economic downturn meant that we could’nt raise a second round of financing and our biggest installation at Subhiksha went up in flames as the retailer went belly up”

He added “We are well on our way to recovery and will emerge as a services/solutions company and not as a media owner”

Whilst there were rumours of a bust-up between investors and the management team way back as far as the middle of 2008 we’ve have had a lot of fun in Mumbai with Rajesh and his team and wish them all the best for the future.
