Apple May Be Acquiring Mobile Ad Network Quattro Wireless

Advertising Age Daily [1] and D/All Things Digital [2] have issued reports that Apple [3] is jumping on the mobile-advertising bandwagon and will acquire mobile ad network Quattro Wireless [4] in a deal valued between $250 million to $275 million.

While both sources claim the news is from unidentified industry executives who have been briefed by bankers, neither had confirmation by either Quattro Wireless nor the usual close-mouthed Apple.

Apple did announce Jan. 5/10 that more than 3 billion apps have been downloaded from its revolutionary App Store by iPhone and iPod touch users worldwide.

And this all happened as Google [5] launched its Nexus Smartphone built on the Android system in the U.S. market.
