Cabtivate becomes tapinto
Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief
The Edinburgh based Cabtivate went into receivership earlier this but the founders of that network have formed a new venture called “tapinto”
tapinto state “expert in the provision of mobile narrowcast digital screen networks. We are international suppliers of audio visual systems for use in the transport sector. We have developed a mobile interactive entertainment and advertising system for use in taxis and buses. We can supply, support and licence our hardware and software both in the UK and internationally, and can manage systems from a single point of control”.

Thanks very much for your positive interest in Tapinto and the chance to give you some feedback on your blog.
Needless to say after five years of innovation and hard graft to get Cabtivate off the ground, I was devastated when a series of well-documented banking errors forced the venture into liquidation.
However, I picked myself up again and Tapinto is the result – our team have taken the lessons we’ve learned, adapted all the very best parts of previous ventures and come up with a very, very different system. Tapinto is simpler, interactive, more user friendly and brings very obvious benefits to the users, as well as taxi or private hire drivers.
You rightly point out that I’m selling my experience – isn’t that what we all do? Tapinto is a genuinely innovative and well-received product which reflects the many years of work and development I’ve put into this sector.
It’s also important to point out that far from being “defunct”, Cabtivate has now been bought out of liquidation by an investor who is every bit as convinced as I that it has a future. I can’t tell you how glad I am about that. I now feel vindicated, particularly after months of unjustified attacks on my character from the small number of people left out of pocket by the collapse.
All the best,
