#dse2010 – LearnSomething Moves Into Canadian Drugstore Chains

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

LearnSomething, the 15-year-old Tallahassee, Florida-based company that presents, packages, delivers, and manages e-learning and multimedia products, is expanding into Canada with new clients Rexall drugstores and Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix.

The contracts mean approximately 1,000 8” x 10” AdView screens will be put on point-of-purchase shelves, initially in the vitamin and supplement areas. They will be information-based to educate the customer, but could well be sponsored by advertisers.

This is also the first time that LearnSomething has had to develop the content in two languages; to accommodate Canada’s French-speaking population.

The new screens are part of a revamp of Rexall drugstores. The Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix outlets recently underwent a revamp.

LearnSomething has screens in a dozen different drugstore and grocery retailers in the U.S.. It is also working with Lifeclinic for the retrofitting of blood pressure machines with digital screens in the U.S. and U.K..
