Following on from our prediction earlier in the year about seeing the rise of AM equipped devices – we only wrote about Quividi’s camera integration with the Mettler-Toledo retail scale  in mid-July – we now see VENCO Electronica  introducing what they claim is the first digital screen supplied with a fully integrated audience measurement solution.
We doubt it will sell well but it’s a clever PR / marketing move by Trumedia  who are supplying their iCapture device as part of the integration (that will have to include the Smartbox as well).
The press release tells us that “Venco’s DS for Digital Screens division produces turnkey DS solutions including H.D. resolution screens, platform, audience measurement and communications”
Joan Clotet, Managing Director, Venco who probably knows an awful lot about audio visual but precious little about digital out of home is quoted as saying “We believe that the success of Digital Signage hinges on the ability to accurately measure ROI and effectively target advertising to the viewing audience” – we are not convinced that very many other real experts in the industry actually believe that!
Anyway, should you wish to see this integrated device, Venco will be demonstrating the new screens at a couple of European shows including: –

- TOTAL MEDIA – first Digital Signage Fair (25-26 Sept)
- VISCOM SIGN POP and POS (16-18 Oct)
- MATELEC Electronics and Integrated components (28 Oct-1 Nov)
