It has been widely reported that shares in Barco have been dropping like a stone since last week’s disastrous second quarter results that showed declining sales (and lower prices) of LEDs.
The really interesting statement though was from Blooomberg News who said “Barco is facing increased competition from Brookings, South Dakota-based Daktronics Inc. and Christie Digital Systems Inc., the world’s largest maker of digital cinema projectors, which are benefiting from a weaker dollar to win clients outside North America, at a time when global economic growth is slowing.”
Barco is unfortunately expected to lay off workers (not good).
