#ScreenMediaExpo – Digiadvans On The Move

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

The iDOOH Digiadvans that I had hoped to see at this event (see my earlier article, Ed) are even more impressive in real life than pictures have shown, and I can well envision them driving the streets of the U.S. and Canada, regardless of the weather.

SA Screen Media currently has 10 interactive SA vans featuring 130” screens currently operating in the U.K. and Europe, another 10 ready to go out, plus three just-launched smaller vehicles with 52” screens. The company is currently looking for and considering ways to expand.

“It takes six weeks to build a SA Digiadvan, currently on Renault vehicles,” says Jonathan Fenech, operations manager. “We’d like to be able to expand our market. This could mean building the screen boxes and sending them to be attached to other vehicles. We don’t know if this might happen in the future, but for now we are handling everything in-house.”

They are one of the most professional looking ‘screen in a van’ systems I have seen worldwide – and the most exciting thing is that these are used with different levels of interaction (from using the integrated touchscreen as part of the screen through face tracking and more)…
