IBN Signs Contract With Safeway

InStore Broadcasting Network [1] (IBN) announced today that Safeway, Inc. (NYSE: SWY) has signed a multi-year contract providing in-store radio in more than 1,700 Safeway grocery stores throughout the US and Canada.

[2]Safeway, Inc., headquartered in Pleasanton, California, is one of the world’s largest food retailers, based on sales. The company reported FY09 revenue of over US$40 Billion and was ranked 52nd on the latest Fortune 500.

IBN supplies Safeway and other retail outlets with in-store audio broadcast services promoting new products, services, cooking tips and special promotions. The companies have a long-standing successful relationship, having signed their first contract in 1999.

Safeway’s in-store radio advertising inventory is valued at more than USD 6 million annually. IBN in-store radio is one of the fastest growing segments in the field of shopper marketing.
