CCO Names V-P, GSM of New York

Marty Shapiro has been named vice-president, general sales manager for the New York branch of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc., Phoenix, with responsibility for CCO’s inventory throughout New York’s five boroughs, Westchester County, Hudson Valley and the New Jersey Digital Outdoor Network.

Shapiro reports to Harry Coghlan, president and general manager of the New York division,

Prior to joining Clear Channel Outdoor, Marty served as senior vice- president of international sales for Petry Media and managing director of Petry Sports & Entertainment, where he developed its international rep business and created the Sports & Entertainment practice. Previously, he spent almost a decade at CNN International as vice- president for North American ad sales, where he oversaw ad sales, marketing and research for all of CNN’s international networks, websites and digital properties.

Before he joined the international media community, Marty held a long and prestigious career in sports sponsorship sales that include Madison Square Garden, Florida’s Sunshine Sports and Ted Turner’s 1998 Goodwill Games.

Shapiro has served four years as Chairman of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Global Marketing Summit and is currently a member of the board of directors of the New York chapter of the IAA.
