#DSInvestor – DSA News Update

David Drain, executive director, Digital Screenmedia Association [1], gave attendees an update on the 669 member strong national association built, he said, “on building education and advocacy.”

[2]Conference attendants were urged to take advantage of DSA’s various activities including: webinars; Lyle Bunn [3]’s four-hour Speed sessions (US$195); Newsletter; 35 Best Practices document; DSA’s LinkedIn Group; and others.

The organization will soon be launching two new publications: the DS Almanac 2011 ($199 for members; $249 for non-members); and Self-Service Future Trends (which includes survey data), at $247 for members and $347 non-members). Both publications include commentaries from key industry executives, case studies, and a members’ directory.

The association also plans to publish a ROI calculator, which will be a tool involving an Excel spread sheet.

DSA is also looking at ways for the industry to ‘become more green’; is considering setting up a branch / association in Asia; and is expanding into the mobile technology sector. (It is in talks with the Mobile Marketing Association [4] in this regard.)

And DSA members will gain more visibility through the Customer Engagement Technology World [5] becoming ‘the official show of the DSA’. The CETW will take place Nov. 10 and 11 at the Javits Convention Center [6] in New York City.
