It might not be “Neon lights, Schimmernd neon lights, And at the fall of night, This city’s made of light” for much longer in London’s Piccadilly Circus as TDK (finally) decided to upgrade their classic neon sign with a Barco LED display covering nearly 100m².
The 105 x Barco TF-16BK tiles (‘black’ LEDs) used in the install create a pixel real-estate of 378,000 pixels and interestingly also, both the TDK sign and Piccadilly Lite shown in the video above are now powered by Scala.
Project management company MT² (on behalf of Land Securities, the owners of the complex) and system integrator Beaver Solutions [1] worked on the solution.
