Yes Sir I Can Boogie!

#DiSCO11 the third annual Digital Signage Conference preceding #iseurope in Amsterdam got off to a great start, with attendance up 20% on last year to a total of 120.

Andreas makes a Splash!

Delegates came from as far afield as Dubai, India, USA/Canada, with Europe well represented – Germany, France, UK, Portugal, Norway, Finland, Poland, Russia, and of course Benelux and I even spotted a gentleman from the Belgian Ministry of Finance!

Topics covered included a look at a strategic approach to DOOH in shopping malls, the launch of OpenSplash (an open source Digital Signage player), Intel – standards & proof of concept projects, augmented reality, 3D gesture technology for ‘advergaming’, mobile interactivity, best practice in content production, research into costumer experience of digital signage in the Queen of all retail establishments – Harrods in London.

Adrian Cotterill told me “invidis organised another great event, with some great presentations and lots of takeaways, Kelly Moulton’s pitch was my personal favourite but without exception every presenter was good and relevant.”

The whole conference was once again very ably moderated by Oliver Schwede – skilled at synthesizing presentations and stimulating discussion with pertinent questions.

Co-organiser, Florian Rotberg explained to me that the increased international attendance reflects their marketing efforts and indeed the general trend of ISE which is itself becoming a more international event.
