Next week the industry will once again reel as we announce our Digital Signage Software Vendors Top 10 (you can see last year’s winners here [1]).
[1]The DSTop10 is intended as an objective, arm’s-length analysis of the strengths and overall offer of companies providing software, hardware and related services to clients running digital screen network but it is, like all lists very subjective and we make no secret of the fact that those in the top 10 are companies that we would be willing to recommend on projects†.
Remember that some well-known and respected companies, such as Real Digital Media and Nanonation, are never considered for the list because they do not actively market nor have offices outside North America.
Several variables affect the selection of top vendors, including: global presence; management team; financial stability; track record; product roadmap and development team size; breadth of solution; customer service; and the sophistication of the technology options.
Last year global technology provider EnQii earned top place for the third year running and Omnivex and CoolSign joined the coveted list for the first time. Let’s just say that for one of those two companies their stay in the list is going to be short lived!
Also it’s worth pointing out that in 2010 Scala were number four in our list, in 2009 number five and in 2008 (the first year we compiled the top ten) they were number seven, the point being that even with a clash of personalities a bit of hard work by all involved shows that it is possible for vendors to work their way up the list!
