Adwalker’s Baseball World Series

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

For someone who doesn’t cover the US at all, it is scary that the last 24 hours sees two slightly US related stories up here !!!

Did anyone else see the Adwalker ambassadors at the stadiums during the Baseball World Series?

I have yet to see these “Human Billboards” at other large sporting occasions in Europe – but surely it is only time before we see them at Champions League, Premier League or La Liga games or at the likes of Wimbledon or the French Open?

The Adwalker brand ambassadors wore Chevy branded vest covers and hats and were promoting on their systems a car, the Chevy Malibu.

This sort of advertisement is very interactive, the ambassadors stopped and spoke to spectators and invited them to vote for ‘The player you can’t ignore’ and for a chance to win an all new Chevy Malibu.

Adwalker of course recorded the consumer’s vote, market research data and personal information and they also attempted to drive traffic to the web – at the end of each engagement, Adwalker issued a printout reminder directing consumers to the Chevy Malibu website.

I report on this because I am absolutely convinced that we will start seeing this sort of campaign in Europe shortly.
