UB Media A Major Force In Montréal Campus Market

In less than two years, UB Media Inc. [1], Montreal, has become a key player in Montréal’s University Campus market, with more markets nearing on the horizon.

[2]UB Media, which operates advertising networks in restaurants, gyms, cinemas and university campuses, has just added the Université de Montréal [3] to its campus partners.

The company is now the exclusive provider of restroom and illuminated hallway advertising products, which include both Mega Boards and Basic Boards, in Université de Montréal’s CEPSUM, the university’s sports’ complex.

With its addition of the Université de Montréal to its network, UB Media is currently present in three of the largest Montréal University Campuses: Université de Montréal, Concordia University [4] and McGill University [5].

With over 60,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in 2010-2011, Université de Montréal is Canada’s second largest university. Concordia University has over 45,000 students enrolled and is ranked as Canada’s six largest university. McGill University is one of Canada’s most prestigious universities with over 30,000 enrolled.

UB’s Campus Network delivers over 3.2 million impressions weekly through over 1,100 advertising facings in Montréal universities.

Michael Minicucci, UB’s president,says, “The acquisition of three of Canada’s largest campuses is just the beginning. We are proud of UB’s rapid growth and are focusing on a national expansion.”

This development follows UB’s announcement last month of a partnership with the University of Ottawa [6], the largest university in the nation’s capital with over 35,000 students. This partnership marks UB’s first campus in the Ontario market. According to Minicucci, the company is also preparing to unveil its new Resto-Bar indoor advertising networks in Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa adding to its Montréal and Québec City networks.

“2011 is the year that UB is going to assert its position in the media industry,” says Minicucci.

In addition to offering captive media solutions through indoor static and digital signage in restaurants, university campuses, gyms and cinemas, UB also is responsible for all on-screen media and in-theatre media at Guzzo Cinemas [7], major independent theatre chain.
