Maybe We Need To Be Nicer To Scala?

Formula BMW (which we believe this is) is a junior racing formula for single seater cars and is positioned at the bottom of the motorsport career ladder alongside the longer established Formula Ford category…

[1]

… giving perhaps a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘Powered by Scala’

The car is being driven by Liam Petrus Venter [2]. Maybe we need to be nicer to Scala so that when they move up the sponsorship ladder and sponsor some Formula 1 we get tickets to (for example: hint, hint) today’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Is this the son of Scala’s distributor in South Africa, one Petrus Venter?
Kyalami racetrack perhaps?

Thanks for drawing attention to Liam, who at 16, is the first African to gain entry into the European arena of the prestigious Formula BMW Talent Cup. Trust the Germans to turn a racing series into a professional training ground for young talented drivers. Looking at just the current names, we have Vettel, Rosberg, Sutil, Glock, Buermi, Hulkenburg, Senna as prime examples of trainees that have reached the Holy Grail of racing through Formula BMW.
I agree, We do need to be nicer to Scala, not just because Gerard, aka “The Flying Dutchman” during his glory days of karting, has the ability to spot exceptional product and talent, but there was an announcement on the SA news this morning that a deal is being finalised for a F1 in Cape Town ….
