HollyOaks AllStars vs The Life Channel

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

This Saturday sees a nice charity fund raising football match in the UK in aid of WhizzKids United.

In 2008 The Life Channel extended its reach to South Africa and launched a network in association with the Gauteng Department of Health.

The highlight of their fund raising year will take place this Saturday, November 8th in Preston, Lancashire and sees the Hollyoaks All-Stars football team take on The Life Channel’s own all stars to raise money to go towards running the first ever HIV clinic set up especially for teenagers.

Marcus McIlvray at Whizzkids United told us “We are extremely delighted that The Life Channel is flying the flag for Whizzkids United with its Celebrity Football Match and thank them and the HollyOaks Crew for taking time out to support such an important cause. Not only is this an opportunity to demonstrate the good that can come out of football, but it is also an ideal opportunity to raise awareness about HIV in Africa and the UK. Whizzkids United is looking to launch its HIV prevention program in the UK before the end of the year; young people in the UK need to be mindful of the fact that HIV is a threat to everyone and isn’t just a disease that’s common in Africa”

The Life Channel has taken Whizzkids United to its heart and has adopted it as The Life Channel Schools Network Charity of the Year with schools and The Life Channel’s own staff participating in fund-raising activities.
