When we learned yesterday of a new agreement between Del City, Oklahoma-based Order-Matic, and Popstar Networks, a digital media software and services company based in Olathe, Kansas, we talked to Jeff Xouris, vice-president marketing of Popstar, to learn more about the agreement and especially about the eight-year-old Popstar.

Order-Matic, a pioneer in the quick service restaurant industry for more than 55 years, had announced a reseller and joint marketing agreement for Popstar Networks’ advanced digital signage solutions. With this agreement, Order-Matic will market and resell Popstar Networks’ complete digital signage offering, including the company’s Digital Menu Boards for multi-location convenience stores, quick-service and fast-casual restaurants.

With thousands of long-standing customer relationships across the U.S., Order-Matic and its affiliated divisions provide order confirmation, point-of-sale, graphics and signage systems to the restaurant industry, but the company has been hearing a growing demand for a variety of digital signage needs.

“We feel it is a natural progression for our customers as we settle into an age of ever changing food costs and the desire for convenience,” says Megan Sanford, director of marketing, Order-Matic Electronics Corporation.

Designed to specifically meet the needs of today’s QSR and fast-casual restaurants, Popstar Networks’ digital menu boards offering is architected to allow easy content distribution, remote location management, flexibility in updating and changing pricing, caloric/nutritional, and other data elements. The system also provides robust scheduling and day-parting, and full support of multi-brand management – all through a single, common interface.

Additionally, the platform is ideal for developing interactive, self-service ordering kiosks and can be integrated directly with existing point-of-sale systems and other third-party applications, providing a comprehensive solution to the client.

Popstar Networks delivers advanced digital signage solutions that extend the power of traditional and digital marketing and merchandising programs on-site or in-store to help companies achieve more customer satisfaction, more control, more flexibility, and more results from their digital signage networks.

“We deal in four verticals: healthcare, specialty retail, QSRs and ‘custom interactive’ ,” says Xouris. “We use our own proprietary software, and have clients across the country but strongly concentrated in the U.S. mid-west.”

The company was already dealing with the quick service sector with such companies as Casey’s General Stores (convenience stores, many offering a food service and associated with gas stations). Among its numerous other clients are, eg.: in the specialty retaii sector – Cinema Scene, where Popstar Networks is in theatre lobbies in more that 200 locations; in the healthcare sector – Stryker Health Care; in custom interactive – Hallmark Crown Centers, where there are interactive kiosks.
